Grounded in the world class research and practical action – the Digital Economy Kit aims to get economies ready for the digital age so that everyone benefits.
Technology presents a crossroad in history to switch economies on and prepare for the future – so that everyone benefits. Failing to take advantage of the digital age risks leaving billions of already marginalised people behind, and in the dark.
Governments who are not taking advantage of the digital boom need to act now. There is no time for marginal adjustments – economy wide plans are needed to help countries ride the tide of change; harnessing the best opportunities technology brings and minimising the losses.
The Digital Economy Kit: harnessing digital technologies for inclusive growth is a live working document. It is built on work undertaken by a growing community of practice stretching across the globe. The kit is being piloted with the governments of Mongolia, South Africa and Ethiopia.
This is the second public draft of this kit to be published online. The Pathways Commission will publish a final version of this kit later this year. In the meantime, this current prototype of the kit is available for use and adaption to your country context.
