The launch of the Pathways Commission's two major reports featured in the column of John Thornhill, the Financial Times' Innovation Editor. Here John Thornhill discussed how the commission was 'puncturing some of the doomsdays scenarios about the imminent threat of job-destroying robots.'

John Thornhill pointed to the Commission's efforts to highlight the importance of access to the internet as well as how 'more than 3bn people remain unconnected.' He also notes how 'although the commission painted a generally positive picture of how technology can benefit the world, it warned of the bad consequences of an unmanaged transition.'
