Chowdhury, A. & Pick, A. (2019) Digital Health in LLMICs: Current and future technological developments with the potential to improve health outcomes in low- and lower-middle-income countries. Pathways for Prosperity Commission Background Paper Series; no. 28. Oxford, United Kingdom.

Technology will shape the future of healthcare over the coming decades across the world. In low- and lower-middle-income countries, digital health has a great potential to strengthen healthcare provision for the most vulnerable. There are, however, a number of hurdles to overcome. This report, commissioned by the Pathways for Prosperity Commission, explores current and future technological developments with the potential to improve health outcomes, particularly those that could alleviate high disease burden conditions in low- and lower-middle-income countries. The report builds on 18 expert interviews undertaken for this study and makes a number of recommendations for local, national and international actors.
