Panel event in Washington on automation, AI, and value chains

On 19 April 2018, Pathways for Prosperity co-hosted an event with the Center for Global Development entitled: “What Will Automation and Artificial Intelligence Mean for Comparative Advantage and Supply Chains in the Developing World?” The event took place in Washington DC and was part of a busy programme of events for the commission this week.

The discussion was moderated by Charles Kenny (Director of Technology and Development and Senior Fellow, Center for Global Development). He was joined by a panel including Pathways commissioner Kamal Bhattacharya (Chief Innovation Officer, Safaricom), academic director Benno Ndulu (former Governor of the Central Bank of Tanzania), Mary Hallward-Driemeier (Sr Economic Advisor, World Bank), Vijaya Ramachandran (senior fellow at CGD), and Hans Docter (Ambassador for Private Sector and Development Cooperation).
